cptamerica2 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Those are the numbers that SMO gave us. The Warrants must've been guard heavy. Quote
dirtyfoot Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Warrants have been very guard heavy lately, which also explains a lot about the recent bubbles. And word on the street is that the FW slots will be coming.Do not want. Do not. 2 Quote

Every airframe has a corresponding personality. Quote

But air assault is not attack is not lift is not VIP is not Medevac, etc. Â Plus 153A = ROTARY wing aviator can't just go changing the parameters on us, unless of course the Army finally does the right thing and takes the CAS mission from the air force! A pipe dream, but a hell of a nice one. Quote
Brian101193 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 How does the selection phase actually work? Do you know OML and what air-frames are available in advance or is that all revealed when you actually have to pick? Just curious if it's all a big mystery up until selection day or if you know this stuff before hand. Quote
Lindsey Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 It's revealed by the order in which they call your name. Before that it's a big mystery. You may have a general idea but won't know your exact spot. 1 Quote
Joe_P148 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 It's not, at the end of they day your flying. Kinda like being the lowest in your class in med school, at the end of the day your still a doctor. Quote

akscott60 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Yes. You think about selection every f*cking day of the process until you finally do it. For some, it is the only motivator. 1 Quote
dirtyfoot Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015  I guess that's a great way to look at it, still must be tough though when someone has their mind set on a specific helo. Yup, everyone says pick the mission, but sometimes big army says "mission not available right now, so we're gunna choose for you". Seems like an inefficient way of doing business for both Aviators and HQDA, but it is what it is. Quote
shainbourassa Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 We were just informed by our Bco commander that spouses are now allowed to sit in on selection day. Quote

Yamer Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 It's been happening long before his time... It happened at mine 3 months ago... Quote
shainbourassa Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Â Huh? Why?No clue, all he said was starting today spouse are allowed to come in during selection. Quote
brackac Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Spouses? At selection? That's just idiotic. In a room where individuals are making career decisions, some not getting their Airframe of choice, or people are making decisions that can influence the career of the individual sitting next to them; Spouses do not belong there.  How are you as a selectee suppose to react when a spouse gets upset over their soldiers selection, or a spouse is upset because you selected the last available, which was their SO's airframe of choice. What about the spouse who is sitting in the room and their SO is the last to select because he/she was the bottom of the OML? It's a bad move by the Command.  Furthermore, involving the spouse in selection opens the Command to complaints by Spouses.  What's next? Spouse's approval signature on selection boards? Spouse visitation in SERE school? Spouses attending promotion boards?  Even my wife said "Why?" 5 Quote
Cantankerously Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 My wife didn't go even though she wasn't allow. She just didn't care all that much lol. I guess they are trying to make the Army more family friendly. Quote
Tradewinds Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Spouse visitation in SERE school?  Wait....you mean spouses don't bring the guys and gals cookies during SERE. 1 Quote
Lindsey Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Just witnessed the wildest selection.  LTs7 Apaches2 Blackhawks WOs2 Apaches1 Chinook1 C-12 For the warrants, the two apaches went first, then C-12, and last guy got 47s. I reiterate, zero Blackhawks for Warrants.  The C-12 guy will go through the A/L course, then FW transition and "never fly helicopters in the Army again." 1 Quote
Lindsey Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Seriously?Have you selected yet?Seriously, and no. Should be July 22nd. It's a long story. :-| Quote
shainbourassa Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Surprised the 64's went before the C-12. Quote
