question... how hard was it for those 6 guys to get fixed wing? were they top of the class or luck of the draw? My packet is in for the next board and i'm currently working on my helicopter license so I don't mind getting rotary wing but i rather fly the c-12 since they are must likely going to be around the MI community and that is what I have done since day 1!

Depends a lot on luck. First, even getting one in your selection. As far as difficult to get, it depends on your class. Typically people either really really want the C-12, or dont want it at all. Just depends who you get grouped with.

When I went through last year they were still doing c12s via the 67 route only since back then only 1 out of every 4 classes was a 72 class.. I passed up a 72 slot so i can fly FW. ( as well as some others in the class) mid way through instruments the word came down that 67s no longer track to FW and its only 72s. Not to mention they made it so the 72 guys go directly to c12s. hahaha...bastards.

To say the least we were all pretty bummed.

I will find a way to get my ass in a c12 slot sooner or later.

I don't report to Hawaii till Aug so maybe there's still a chance I get sent to C12 as a follow on course

While a nice thought, if you get an advanced aircraft (Hawk?) it's... not going to happen.

For all intents and purposes, that chance is nil.

I'd guess about as close as "I selected Hawks, but hoping I get an Apache follow-on".

That's a pretty good selection. 7 64s for wo. That would be the selection I'd want to be on.

What was the order for C12s?

I'm not sure. I wasn't there, just passing the info along.

And 47's.... they increased the number of students from 6 to 8/10 per class and increased the frequency of classes from every 4 weeks, to every 2 weeks. Hence why there is almost always 2/3 47s per selection now vs the 1 or 2 every 3 selections last year.

Would it be traitorous to pick 47 coming from 64 crew chief? Looks way more comfortable for tall guys.

I'm just hoping they keep the numbers up for October. Even if there's only two in my selection I'll be happy.
